What People Are Saying

Reviews

★★★★☆
"Sage Nut is not only cute and furry, but also very wise. Sage Nut shares lessons on kindness, patience, living in the moment and more without ever being moralising. The book is divided into a number of parables, like a modern day Aesop's Fables, each brief enough to make a good bedtime story and each beautifully illustrated."
— Tore Dimmestol, Verified Reader Whispering Forest Stories
★★★★★
"It was a good book for a little elder children. The story and the lesson in each chapter were well connected and provide a very good basis for reflection and conversations around the topic, which is a great way to provide a deeper and easier understanding of the story and the lessons. The book is well written and provides a good pictorial description of the animals and the forest. It is also written in a simple and easy-to-understand language (Even for a Norwegian).."
— Dag Hogstad, Oslo Norway Whispering Forest Stories
★★★★★
"A really good message! We all should consider this in the world we live in, to just be still and know that the spirit is wanting to talk with us all!"

The Man Behind the Stories

About Gil

Gil Edwards has been telling stories his entire life — through music, through words, through pictures, and through the kind of quiet wisdom that only comes from living fully and paying attention.

A performer for over 55 years, Gil has played stages from intimate living rooms to international venues, writing songs that stick to your ribs and performances that people talk about for years.

The Whispering Forest Stories series grew out of a lifetime of watching how stories shape children. Alongside the books, his underground comic series Depressed Chakra & The Knuckleheads reflects a different side of his creative personality: raw, funny, and refreshingly honest. Under the pen name Ray Gilbert, he writes non-fiction that asks the questions most people are afraid to put into words.
